Insector X is a horizontally scrolling shooter game that was originally developed by Hot-B and released in arcades by Taito in 1989. The game was later ported to the Mega Drive and Famicom platforms.

The player controls an insect-sized warrior named Kai. Kai takes on a vast army of cyborg insects to free the insect world from the dark ruler queen.

Hidden Messages:
In the NES version, there’s a secret message: Enter the “OPTION MODE” menu, move the cursor to “EXIT,” press Right 35 times, then press Left once. The message “PRGD. BY JYOJI HIRAYAMA” will appear.
Additionally, players can access a level select and a no-hit mode by manipulating the options menu.
