Inside Oculus Quest Hardware: Here Are The Sensors Which Track Head And Hand Movement
No sound. Video provided by Facebook shows the internal sensors on the Oculus Quest headset and its Touch Controllers which are essential to tracking movement. Accelerometers, gyroscopes and cameras embedded on the hardware itself provide a data stream (essentially anytime the white light is on at the top of the Quest) that is constantly analyzed for movement predictions. These predictions are used to draw the visuals of your virtual world precisely where your head is going to be at just the right time. The Rift S, built by Lenovo for Facebook, works in essentially the same manner.
