Installing The Hornby HM7000 Bluetooth DCC Sound Decoder Into A Cavalex Models Class 60 #dcctutorial
5Here is my DCC Fitting Guide video where I fit the Hornby HM7000 DCC BlueTooth 21 Pin DCC Decoder into a Cavalex Models Class 60 Diesel Locomotive with an Accurathrash Bass Speaker and what a lovely conbination this is overall.
The good points is that you can use this locomotive wirelessly on any live track that is DCC and in some cases DC but if you use a DC controller like me as a power bus. Please make sure it is a newer controller and preferably less than 5 years old as these new controllers smooth out the power better unlike the older ones.
The downside is that you cannot at this present time be able to control the marker lights or cab lights and even the engine room lights but maybe the HM7000 could be calibrated to do this in an update or something.
I can live with the limited light control in favour of the Wireless Bluetooth benefits. After all, the Hornby HM7000 is designed to work best with the Hornby locomotives due to the way the lights are wired for maximum benefit but they can also work with other brands of locomotives with limitations.
