Intel provided examples of the new chip names, such as Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 1090H, Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 1070K, and Intel Core 5 processor 1050U. These examples indicate the intended use and performance levels of the chips.
There might be some confusion initially when retailers don't clearly distinguish between previous and current generations. However, Intel views this as a feature, allowing customers and OEMs more flexibility. The chip numbers will still be present on store shelves for reference.
Overall, Intel believes that the benefits of the rebranding strategy outweigh any potential drawbacks. They have already discontinued the Pentium and Celeron value brands, and lower-end processors are now simply labeled as Intel Processor.
