Intersect with Model vs Solid Tools
What's better to merge geometry: Intersect with Model, or Solid Tools? In this SketchUp tutorial, Tyson walks through how to join a coffee mug to its handle in two ways (both in SketchUp for Web.)
First, he uses commands available in all (i.e. Free) versions of SketchUp: Intersect Faces / With Model.
Then he switches to the Pro version to use Solid Tool commands Trim and Outer Shell for a faster, boolean modeling process.
