The Champions Showdown: Chess 9LX tournament takes place September 14-16, 2022, at the chess club in St. Louis. This Chess960 (Fischer Random) event features some of the world's top grandmasters, including the legendary former World Champion Garry Kasparov, as well as GMs Hikaru Nakamura, lan Nepomniachtchi, Wesley So, Fabiano Caruana, Levon Aronian, Alireza Firouzja, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Leinier Dominguez, and Peter Svidler.
The time control is 20 minutes for the whole game with a five-second increment per move, starting from move one. The prize fund is $150,000.
