Which tablet should you buy to get started with digital art? The answer: a flat one, on your desktop. These are way cheaper than display tablets, and you can find a secondhand device at a very low price. They take a little time getting used to, but graphic tablets are necessary if you want to paint digitally. They allow you to draw with much more precision than the mouse, and they track the pressure you apply on the stylus to achieve a variety of painting effects.
