CERN is the world's largest particle physics laboratory seeking to understand the building blocks of the universe. The LHC is the largest experiment in the world supported by 15,000 researchers from all over the world. Six students from openlab summer program worked on various oneAPI projects one Intel DevCloud for oneAPI to demonstrate cross-architecture computing on CPU's, GPU's, FPGA's and other accelerators along with fast, efficient app development and performance. Intel has been a partner with CERN openlab over the 20-year partnership history. Currently, the CERN computing grid is one of the largest computing grids in the world with millions of lines of C++ and Python codes running on tens-of-thousands of Intel-based CPU cores. CERN openlab is currently investigating oneAPI projects for functionality and has been inviting other developers and partners worldwide to join in the computing collaboration.
