Former armed forces personnel, Katrina Brown and Becki York, credit their training for the Invictus Games with improving their quality of life. The Invictus Games bring together sick and injured armed forces personnel for a week of sports. Katrina, a combat medical technician, found training boosted her physical and mental confidence, making a difference between surviving and thriving. Diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disease, she says training improved her health and allowed her to enjoy life again. Becki, a musician who served in the Royal Marines Band Service, suffered a hip injury that affected her mental health. Inspired by her brother's participation in the Invictus Games, Becki signed up to improve her physical condition and show her family that a full life is possible. Both will be competing in various sports at the upcoming Invictus Games in September.
