How To Enable 'Screen Unknown Senders' In Messages On iOS 26:
Step 1: Launch the Settings app on your iPhone. Scroll down and tap on "Apps". Here, select "Messages".
Step 2: Under the Unknown Senders section, find the toggle for "Screen Unknown Senders".
Step 3: Tap the toggle to turn it ON (green). Once enabled, your Messages app will separate your conversations into:
Known Senders (people in your contacts)
Unknown Senders (not in your contacts)
When this option is enabled, messages from phone numbers or email addresses not saved in your Contacts are moved to a separate “Unknown Senders” tab in the Messages app. You won’t get notifications for these unless you open that tab.
How To Disable 'Screen Unknown Senders' In Messages On iOS 26:
To turn OFF this option, locate the "Screen Unknown Senders" toggle. Tap the toggle to turn it OFF (gray).
When disabled, all messages—regardless of who sent them—will appear in the main Messages inbox. This will happen regardless of whether the sender is saved in your contacts or not.
