Apple has just released iOS 10.1 beta to developers. And with this beta iPhone 7 plus got the portrait mode in the camera settings. In this mode the background becomes extra blurry making the object pop up even more. I've tested it and compared it to regular photos.

As of now (September 21st 2016) this update is only available for developers. It soon will be available for everyone.
