http://www.netbooknews.com Richard Savage walks us through some of the mobile health devices that Qualcomm had on display at UpLinq 2010.

We learn about a smartbandaid that provides wireless heart monitoring. These smart bandaid devices could run to mobile phones or run constant data streams, but its the details that are stopping it, and we are thankful for it. If one were to run the data to your mobile phone, then the FDA would have to approve the phone, so if a mobile app were to be created, each phone that it was installed on would have to be submitted for approval. Having a stand alone device dedicated for the medical purpose isn't such a bad thing. I mean during the same presentation I learned about an aspirin sized pill that used stomach acid to power a battery and transmit information!

If you are interested in the future of medical technology this video gives you a taste of what's to come.
