Is Arcade Hardware WORTH IT?! Reviewing CAVE Shoot Em' Up Arcade PCBs. I have returned from the CAVE Mikado Event in Spain and while I was there I had the opportunity to finally play most of my favorite CAVE arcade PCBs on Taito Egret II cabinets! So in today's video I am going to be discussing my findings of what it is like to play these games on original hardware vs how I (and most people) normally play them which is via emulation (MAME, Retroarch) or official ports. The three primary criteria I look at in today's video are input lag, slowdown accuracy, as well as visual differences of how the games look on arcade monitors versus LCD and at home CRT/PVM. Additionally I discuss the current market concerns with the prices of these pcb arcade boards and how, even though the arcade boards are the original versions of the games, sometimes critical mass of players on ports or other releases might make them less necessary to own for a hardcore player. One important note to keep in mind for this video is that I am discussing this topic from the perspective of a player of these games, rather than a collector. I am personally not a collector but I understand that original hardware is a very different value proposition from a collector's perspective, versus a player's perspective. This is a bit more of an in-depth hardcore video so if you enjoy it please do your best to share it out with your friends and other people who may be interested :-) I think CAVE/Bullet Hell/Danmaku fans will get a lot out of the video if they haven't played the original cabinets before :-) Also before you jump into full on super expensive CAVE hardware, there are other more cost effective companies to look at such as the Psikyo Games as well as the Neo Geo MVS :-)
