In this video, we mine out a HUGE area of stone at Y=8, the last full layer of stone before deepslate generation starts to take over. We dig out all the ore blocks to take a look at ore generation, and ask whether it's still worth insta-mining with a Haste II beacon now all the diamonds generate lower in the world.
We also discuss the importance of stockpiling cobblestone, whether you should choose beacon mining or moss mining, and how to find slime chunks without using mods or mapping tools!
