Is this new $549 PCVR headset worth it? (DPVR E4 Review)
95DPVR reached out to me to review their first consumer DPVR E4 headset in an honest fashion, so that's what we're doing!
Have seen a lot of confusion around the current state of this headset, and also have seen a lot of peoples' questions go unanswered regarding this recent headset release despite it being covered decently with other reviews, but my experience was a little different than others.
DPVR has told me they have some more accessories in the works that I mention in the video, but nothing set in stone yet. The important thing to remember is that they've told me that this is currently an UNFINISHED product on the software/firmware side, so there are bugs to deal with that may yet be ironed out with tracking and IPD adjustment. I'm only able to review the current state of the headset, of course, although they've confirmed with me that the physical hardware is in its finished state as of the time of posting this.
At the end of the day, any other accessories have been confirmed (as of now) to be additions to the E4, not fixes. The headset is available for sale as we speak, so the current state of the headset must be reviewed as is, in my opinion. Would love to make a follow-up video for any accessories they bring out, however.
