Though I may do a proper guide soon, here's the rundown.
Berserker's Greaves and Guardian's Hammer provide a good base of AD and Attack Speed which is functionally all you need to be a good on-hit champion, using your E on-hit throughout the course of the entire game, scaling infinitely. They often help win early as well, meaning there's little reason not to start this unless going for a specific tank or AP build.
For first Prismatic, nothing is better than Gargoyle's Stoneplate, providing huge resistances to synergy with your next purchase, a great active, and remedying Thresh's massive Magic Resistance weakness. Anything tanky like Cloak of Starry Night or Shield of Molten Stone is great too, and Attack Speed items like Reality Fracture, or even Gambler's Blade can be worked in as well.
First item choice is usually Heartsteel to start scaling quickly, giving you infinite scaling Armor and Health, you'll be tanky enough to use your starting items DPS well with your scaling on-hit. However, against 5+ Liandry's Torment users or other %max hp damage champions, you may opt for Jak'Sho the Protean now instead.
Terminus is your next item usually, providing even more stats including all-important hybrid penetration to scale into late game, some appreciated DPS stats, and even more resistances.
Jak'Sho rounds out the core build, giving more defense stats and multiplying your infinite-scaling armor as well as your magic resistance, boosting the stats from Gargoyle's if you have it, and Terminus when you've stacked it.
Opportunistic and reactive items like Grievous Wounds (Thornmail or Chempunk Chainsword) or heavy resistance (Force of Nature against magic), or even heavier carry damage (Rageblade, Blade of the Ruined King) will be your final items. You can optionall sell boots for Phantom Dancer in the super lategame, or replace them with Runaan's Hurricane against Pets, Minion Mancer, or turrets or Zyra plants. Otherwise, just using extra gold on Stat Anvils is great too.
For Stat anvils, prioritise Attack Speed, Magic Penetration, and Magic Resistance above other stats in most games, with Ability Haste, Health, Attack Damage following that, then any other stats above the worst stats, Lethality and Heal and Shield Power. Try not to take those.
Thresh is good with most stats in the game, so always take the 2x Gamble Stat shard when it appears.
