Crunch in the Video Game Industry constantly happening and has been explained by just about everyone, but one thing has recently stood out. Peoples views on game development crunch seems to change on a per game development studio basis - different judgements of crunch depending on whether that game company is generally good or bad.

CD Projekt RED were recently under scrutiny over their broken promise of 'no crunch' during development of Cyberpunk 2077, but many people decided that since CDPR are usually pro-consumer and create high-quality AAA video games, maybe it's okay to overlook it and pass it off as a necessity to achieve 'gone gold'.

This is my opinion of crunch culture in the video games industry. I love CDPR and their games, so with Cyberpunk 2077 releasing soon it's time to start appreciating the time, effort, and sacrifice that's gone into developing the game - including all those moments of crunch all over the video game industry.
