In Game Design, when making realistic games it's important to balance heavily realistic game mechanics in the favour of fun gameplay and good player experience. Gamification allows us to achieve good gameplay and realism while avoiding making a game overly hard, unfair or unbalanced game. This is how to avoid making a game too difficult and achieve game balance.

In this video, we discuss achieving realistic game mechanics and fun gameplay, explore the concepts of 'Frictional Ludorealism' and 'Ludorigidity', how flexible game design can benefit gameplay and player experience, and how very realistic game mechanics can be made fair and fun through Gamification.

We use Yakuza 3 Remastered as an example, how it's combat isn't realistic but why it doesn't make sense for it to be. We also draw comparisons to other popular video games such as Ghosts of Tsushima, SQUAD, ARMA, Warzone, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Aaaaaannnnndddddd Snake Eater is the best Metal Gear Solid game.
