“It’s Always Been You” came to me as a story of timeless love—of two souls finding each other across lifetimes, bound by fate and undeterred by distance. The idea felt cinematic and inspired by tales like Cloud Atlas, a journey across eras and continents, and I wanted the music to feel equally expansive. Writing this song was quite personal as it is how I think about my love story.

I used Suno to help capture this vision, crafting a sound that mirrors the grandeur and intimacy of Char and Mai’s story. Rather than creating the track for me, I feel that Suno became a collaborative tool, letting me experiment with sounds and refine elements until they matched the emotions I wanted to convey. I still drove the creative direction, writing the lyrics, guiding the tone, and structuring the song to align with the story’s arc. I never take the first one, it's like having multiple auditions after giving it a strict script and I am very selective as it needs to fit the feeling I am going for.

For me, AI isn’t a shortcut; it’s like having an extension of my studio—a way to explore ideas faster and bring to life elements that might otherwise stay in my imagination. The result is a song that’s deeply personal, both for its story and for the creative process that went into it.
