With AnimeNext, Youmacon, Katsucon, and MAGFest going overboard with hygiene theater, mask mandates, and vaccine mandates, we are seeing the death of anime convention culture and anime conventions in real time. A lot of legacy conventions will go out of business due to their need to virtue signal about health and safety out of hysteria over coronachan instead of going back to normal.

It's time that anime convention goers make their own anime conventions, and it does not have to be a large one.
