Why I’m no longer using Mdadm Software RAID on my NAS., I’ve switched to using 2x 6TB Toshiba drives running as JBOD (just a bunch of disks), with a Samsung 850Evo SSD running the OS and downloads folder.
The main problem was poor reliability of the 3TB Seagate drives which dated back to Thailand flooding crisis of 2012 which pushed hard drive prices up and lowered quality.
