After the events of Up Your Arsenal, the Lombax we know as Ratchet is now the new captain of the Starship Phoenix. This is short-lived, however, as he, Clank and Big Al are abducted and brought to the Shadow Sector, home of the famous combat sport DreadZone as forced gladiators.
DreadZone pits contestants against seemingly impossible odds (and sometimes even each other!) "for the pleasure of a billion screaming fans across the Shadow Sector and beyond".
Joiner is up to the task, and he has even brought longtime Ratchet & Clank fan kinothewolf along for the ride! Unfortunately, this has led DreadZone to force them to work together! Will they succeed regardless, and show DreadZone and their fans what it means to be a HERO? Or will their differences in strategy get them eaten by a Leviathan?
