Jak II: Playthrough Part 16: Rescuing Lurkers and a Lurking Sewer Ruby
After dealing with those blue cargo boxes in the Port's water, Krew has yet another mission for the Dark Eco Duo.
A Lurker known as Brutter works for Krew. His whole species of Lurkers are now at the bottom of the barrel of Haven City's already-profound socio-economic issues.
After what looks like a bribe with another Gun Upgrade, Krew tasks the duo to free three Lurkers from each of the Krimzon Guard Transports that have captured them, then take all to Brutter's trinket stand in the "open" Bazaar of the city.
----------
This Gun Upgrade doubles the ammo capacity of all of your weapons. So for example, your 50 Scatter Gun bullets are now 100, and both your Blaster and Vulcan Fury ammo is doubled from 100 to 200 bullets.
Anyway, the captured Lurkers will be marked on your map, and you will directly see them in floating cages, the Krimzon Guard transports.
Naturally, if you're gonna destroy these transports, be prepared for the alerts. I suggest using the Vulcan Fury to shred these apart quickly.
No matter what kind of Zoomer you use, you can only carry one Lurker at a time. Take each one to Brutter, then go back and get the next one. Rinse and repeat until all 3 are back with him.
----------
After doing this, you meet Brutter in person, and he's a friendly guy, he thanks Jak & Daxter (very specifically Daxter) for their help, and hopes to paid them back soon!
----------
Then I deal with another Krew mission. Years ago, he stole a great statue of Mar, the founder of Haven City, because the statue held an extremely valuable Ruby Key.
He was trying to smuggle the statue through the sewers, but then a rainstorm flooded the sewers. While he survived, Krew's crew were drowned away, and the statue was also gone from the flood. Jak felt bad for that crew, but Krew sounded more sad about losing the statue.
Krew tasks Jak & Daxter to drain the sewers of its water, relocate that statue, and bring back the Ruby Key it holds.
----------
This sewer mission is a rather simple one, and as you'll see in this video, it's just more of an excuse to see how well you can use the Jetboard. You'll be riding it through curling pathways and across a lot of water. This water also has hazards in it, such as blades and floating mines.
Find each valve through the new areas you can explore with the Jetboard in the sewers, and hit them to drain the water, eventually, it will all hit the absolute bottom of the sewer, blowing up all of the floating mines in the process (but not the flat ones). THEN, you can finally reach the statue of Mar.
----------
Quickly but somewhat recklessly, Jak & Daxter acquire the Ruby Key. Daxter then takes the time to remind Jak that he's the reason why he's ottsel.
And that's when Daxter realized...
"God, I miss pants..."
Hopefully, Daxter can get some pants of his size and build, someday...
