Japan Pushes Back Against the West!
5,350Japanese studios are starting to learn that handing over the keys to your IPs to Hollywood is a bad, bad idea. Tsuburya Productions, owners of Ultraman, has turned down offers to "Westernize" the character and said they're open to collaboration... as long as the character stays true to his Japanese roots and they get final sign off. Ken Akamatsu, creator of Love Hina, is running for office and he seems keenly interested in keeping Japanese manga and anime safe from the meddling of the West.
