Japanese Practice Discuss Work Issues ❤ Duolingo Section 3: Traveler Unit 15 ❤ Section 1
For dopamine and encouragement, I did a little recording of my Japanese practice some more on Duolingo.
I've been studying for over two year now and work every day to maintain my over 700-day-streak of studying so far. It’s day 796 as of this video posting on 8/16/2024. On Duolingo I am at Section 3: Traveler unit #15.
At the end of each part's lessons, you can do a challenge to champion that part of the unit and turn it gold to show mastery and get dopamine lol. If you do ever part of a unit you legendary the unit and get a gold trophy for the last button part.
I plan on continuing to record my progress for content as well as encouragement for myself going forward. I still have a hard time and only really recognize the characters and sounds while studying. I have a harder time outside my studies understanding when I see and hear Japanese.

I know Duolingo is not the most accurate for Japanese as I've watched several native speakers review the application. But it is good to begin and start recognizing and speaking the language more. They also do update the app a fair amount so this may become inaccurate over time.
I know it is just the first step in my journey to fluency, but I hope one day to be able to visit Japan and gain more appreciation for the culture and people. My fiance is the reason I started studying as we both would love to speak the native language when we eventually go to Japan.
I've read and listened to travelers talk about how it greatly enhances your experience to know some of the local language/s of where you’re traveling to. I also personally believe it is more respectful to learn something before traveling.
I hope you like the content and if you want to see more there will be a playlist for Japanese Learning and I will be occasionally posting more.
My content will always be somewhat random. I typically just make the content that presents itself and that I find enjoyable. I thought my Japanese Practice might fit that. In the future I will try to make the video setup better, I forgot about the size difference on phone videos lol
