Japanese PS2 has a different variant of Red Screen of Death
completely unusual: I have a Japanese PS2 ROM when I was downloading some off of inernette to go with my PCSX2.. and onetime while I was trying to figure out what works on the systems, I came across a @BK4 error montage for the PS2: https://youtu.be/cBuQiWpsN2g
curious, I was trying to find something that differs from the usual PS2 errors, and sure enough, after fiddling with the ISO, this 'unusual' error occurred -- the Japanese PS2 (v1.00) spat some sort of a character sheet for a brief second before it went to the RSoD. switching back doesn't help tho, as it would require to be manually restarted.
I tried it again using a European PS2 ROM (v1.60), and it's as what you'd expect in general.
CHAPTERS
0:00 Japanese PS2 Main Menu
0:06 Japanese PS2 RSoD (upon switch to ISO)
0:28 Japanese PS2 [still] RSoD (upon switch to No Disc)
0:37 switching ROMs in PCSX2 (you can skip if you want)
0:55 European PS2 Main Menu
1:14 European PS2 RSoD (upon switch to ISO)
1:32 European PS2 Main Menu (upon switch to No Disc)
the ISO in question is one of the ISOs I have, in PC format. and naturally, PC discs don't work with consoles.
