Jason Clarke Interview The Aftermath and Serenity
With director James Kent’s The Aftermath opening in theaters this weekend, I recently sat down with Jason Clarke to talk about the drama based on Rhidian Brook's novel of the same name. The film, set in 1946 post-war Germany, follows a British couple (Keira Knightley and Clarke) who finally reunite after years apart. Clarke plays a British colonel whose job is to help rebuild the city, but tensions arise when he decides to share the house they’ve been assigned with its previous owners, a German widower (Alexander Skarsgård) and his troubled daughter.
During the interview, Jason Clarke talked about depicting a time period rarely shown on screen, how he prepared for the role, being a part of one of the most unique films of the year -- director Steven Knight’s Serenity, and more.
