I've used the Java Robot class, which can control the mouse cursor and buttons, to draw various shapes in MS Paint. Dunno why, but why not? Here the program draws a radial gradient in the top left of the frame and then continually copies and pastes the gradient in an x-y pattern across the screen. Try doing that manually. (No don't actually, you'll go mad.)
