JM Audio Edition XTC Open Headphones - Unbox
I did not feel these were $800 quality in material or sound. As you can see, there are several cat hairs and bits of debris inside and out of the drivers. I suggested several flavors of sound I like to the maker/tuner, as a tuning suggestion, and do not know what the baseline tuning of these is like. The "XTC nearly scalpel" tuning I received kind of sounded like an LCD, but just not very good in any way, with the bass sounding especially poor. Detail was also notably poor(think: $100 IEM). Another issue I faced with this headphone was extreme electrical sensitivity, far greater than literally any headphone I've ever encountered, which created an audible, sporadic buzzing/humming every other second, on and off, unless your system was PERFECTLY noise-free. I was also unimpressed with the cable quality, and knock-off of Audeze-style headband system. The inclusion of a hard case is nice, at least. Overall, a very disappointing experience that I can't recommend.
