It's important to note that while John was recording this album was the last time he saw his father in person and he was essentially being a jerk to his father who essentially wanted to bury the hatchet with John. or that's how Alfred comes off when trying to talk to John in my opinion. some might blame primal therapy for how poorly Alfred was treated but I just think John just wanted to be an jerk to his father.

it's because of John his father's own singing career was canceled because John didn't want his father to exploit his his own name for success now depending on how you view John Lennon you might see that as a good or bad thing I see it as a bad thing cuz in my view of Alfred this could have brought John and his father closer together and make up for lost time.
