Joining The Scions Of The Seventh Dawn | FF XIV EP:10
4Having just completed exploring the Copperbell Mines, we set out to complete some unlock quests in Western Thanalan. While we know what one of them are, the other one is a bit of a mystery. First, we discover the Goblet, the adventurer housing in Ul'dah. While there are more houses available, they are still way beyond our price range. Next we learn how to dye and glamour our gear. Being able to change our gears looks seems like it could be a lot of fun, it is less of a concern for now.
When we go to turn in our quest for exploring the Copperbell Mines, we get distracted by a scream outside. We go to investigate, and are asked to help a refugee. During this conflict, we learn a bit about the refugee situation in Ul'dah. Thanks to the calamity, there are many people who have been uprooted from their homes, and most of them seem to be headed to Ul'dah. Since the area is known for it's prosperity, it seems like their best chances, but it would appear that it has made things worse. The refugees are being treated poorly by the locals who don't want to share their wealth. It doesn't appear that there is much we can do about the situation right now, but maybe someday.
Following this, we run into Yda and Papalymo again. They have been watching us to see if we have what it takes to join their order. It turns out that we are exactly what they are looking for, and we are told about the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, and invited to join them. When we show up to the waking sands, we meet Minfilia and the rest of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. We are told about their mission to save Eorzea from god-like beings known as primals. We are even given our first task to investigate some kidnappings that seem related to a primal in the area.
We make a pit stop first and unlock the ability to use retainers. We don't seem to be able to do much with them yet, but for now we can use them to store items as well as sell items in the market. We don't have many things worth much money right now, but we try to make the best of what we do have. We list pretty much everything we own, and most of them may not sell due to the prices being a bit higher than our competition, and demand being rather low. But you never know, and it is worth a try.

* Into a Copper Hell (Main Story Quest) - After turning in the quest, we save a desperate damsel who is taught unfairly due to being a refugee.
* The Scions of the Seventh Dawn (Main Story Quest) - We join the Scions of the Seventh Dawn.
* Forging the Spirit (Unlock Quest) - Learning how to extract materia from our gear.
Ongoing Quests
* World of Wonders (Unlock Quest) - We are greeted at the entrance to the Gold Saucer, and are encouraged to take a tour of the facility.
* Beauty is Only Scalp Deep (Unlock Quest) - We meet the aesthetician and are tasked with getting him the tools of his trade from the three nation capitals.
* A Wild Rose by Any Other Name (Main Story Quest) - Meeting our fellow Scions, we are sent on our first mission to investigate some kidnappings that are related to a Primal.
