It is developed by Arika and published by Nintendo. It was released exclusively on Nintendo Switch as a free download for members of the Nintendo Switch Online service on October 1, 2020, and will remain playable until March 31, 2021. The game was created to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros.
