Josiah Says! - Letters to my Younger Selves I - "Introduction, Nine, and Eleven"
7In this series of highly personal video blogs, I will read aloud an ongoing set of letters that I've written to the various earlier versions of myself in the past. These letters are candidly autobiographical in nature, and in them I express some of my feelings and judgments about the person that I was and the decisions I made during those younger days, as well as offering hypothetical advice and encouragement that I wish I could have received when I was at each of those points in my life. For context, I am now 37 years old.
Much of the information about myself revealed in these letters is of a compromising nature, and a great many of the details herein have been largely or entirely concealed up to this point in my life. I will discuss some aspects of my life in these letters which I have never spoken of to anyone. I don't know who these videos are meant to be for, and I don't care if anyone watches them, or what they think of me after doing so. I'm making and posting them for myself, as a personal challenge, as therapy, as an effort toward self-actualization. I don't care if they are "appropriate" or not. If you don't like 'em, don't watch 'em.
I have lived a challenging and unconventional life, to put it very mildly. A number of shocking, offensive, or disturbing topics will be discussed in these videos, possibly including but not necessarily limited to: mental illness, psychosis, hallucination, delusion, depression, mania, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, sociopathy, suicide, child abuse, bullying, drug abuse, drug addiction, alcohol abuse, alcoholism, violence, extreme violence, graphic violence, childhood violence, crime, violent crime, criminal lifestyle, jail, prison, prison inmates, convicts, death, murder, rape, drug overdose, domestic violence, mental hospitals, mental institutions, mental patients, homelessness, child homelessness, teen homelessness, squatters, squatter lifestyle, sex, sexuality, racism, sexism, misogyny, feminism, obesity, disability, religion, spirituality, atheism, religious intolerance, iconoclasm, activism, radical philosophy, and orange juice from concentrate.
