5Now for an even more infamous Strider game, the non-canon sequel published by U.S Gold for PCs and the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.
Strider II, also know as Journey from Darkness Strider Returns in the USA, was released in 1990, developed by Tiertex, who had created the home computer ports of the first Strider. Building on that same technology, they created a completely new game, using the Strider name under license from Capcom. It was not originally conceived as a sequel to Strider, but rather an original game called T.O.R. (“Transforming Overland Robot”).
The objective of the game is to rescue the Princess of Planet Magenta from a terrorist group that is keeping her captive.
The gameplay, animations and soundtrack are just horrible, is a pretty weak game, but it actually has some impressive voice samples, you must hear it to believe it! Enjoy!
