After my somewhat disappointment of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, I found Journey to the Center of the Earth to be very surprising. Where I thought the changes makes to Leagues where unnecessary and at times downright stupid, the changes here feel justified. The Book itself while entertaining, is kind of a "road trip" scenario, while the movie makes it more of an adventure. It has everything in it I would want to see in a Journey movie, and adds in just enough to keep the story fresh. Highly recommend it. Especially now that it's on Disney Plus. I still do wonder if James Mason being a major character like in Leagues was a coincidence or fully intentional.
