As I said in the review this book very much took me by surprise. Only heard of it about 2 weeks ago, and found it a very good read. One of the problems I have with these reviews is I do them without a script. Sometimes there are a few thing I want to mention in the review that I missed. In this case Mia mentions the idea that there is a sparkle in her eyes, that she never saw before transitioning. This is something I started to notice within myself as well. They say a person's eyes are the window into their soul. Before transitioning, I was there, not too much involved but now I am here. My soul feels a lot more sparkly, and I feel that comes through in my eyes. I also love that the political side of things wasn't touched upon. I get so much political talk in my day to day life that I'm just sick of it. All too often I hear in the trans community rant about their hate to certain groups, I'm happy this was not the case here. The last thing to mention. I have always been jealous of those that found out they where Transgender at a younger age. This book changed that perspective for me, as I think knowing there is a problem and not being able to do anything about it, is worse than realizing you had the problem for a while and just figured it out. I would have also liked to do more of a compare and contrast, but that would have made a long review. Hope you enjoyed this review. I would say it might be a while until my next book review but who knows, maybe something will come up. Until that next time, be yourself. No matter who that is!
