This gorgeously majestic tune beautifully conveys the sense of a senior judge graciously bestowing his grandiose pronouncements on an uncritical public.

It's a great vehicle for the fantastic reeds on this organ. We start with four arresting notes played by the feet on the tremendous Pedal Ophicleide, answered by sombre chords on the Swell Trumpet. The dialogue briefly continues before giving way to the luscious Great Diapasons carrying the main theme. The powerful climax of the piece brings in the Great reeds before quickly subsiding back down to the Swell Trumpet, firmly caged back in its box.
