This is my submission for the Honkai: Star Rail Hoyofair GG33 art challenge! It’s been a while since I made an animation, I hope you like it. #StarRailGG33 #HoYoFair

I wanted the general feeling to be upbeat and “magical” so I used a lot of bright and whimsical colours, but I also wanted to show the powerful and cool side of these characters with really quick “if you blink you miss it” moves in the animation.

Designing the volleyball uniforms was also pretty fun!

When I realized I had to use original music I watched a couple tutorials and made the BGM by myself. I don’t know what music theory is and I don’t play any instruments, so I just did it from scratch by ear, whatever I thought would sound good. I wanted the music to have the sound of hope. Like you’re so close to victory but with one mistake you can lose everything. Let the Games of the XXXIII Galactics begin!!
