Junkyard Simulator playthrough Part 07 Patch 2.1.4 is here!
For all the information and all the "whys", please read the description of Part 01.
This is just another part of my playthrough of Junkyard Simulator by PlayWay. As the game is in Early Access, you may expect to see various glitches, bugs, framerate drops, or poor/incomplete mechanics. Still, the game provides a fair amount of fun and relaxation!
Note: I recorded this part to test the game after another major patch. According to the devs, they worked on driving mechanics, bug fixing, meanwhile also reworked the game for a completely new engine - I mean, that is a lot of progress and it proves that the devs have not abandoned this project. There is also one HUGE change - players can from now on use one of the initial mechanics from the first versions of the game: they can manually load items on a vehicle. Instead of a dull and illogical inventory based system (transport 20 bottles or 20 engines by a truck), you can now stack items on the truck bed. For this "new" mechanic, the devs added a completely new vehicle that you can buy from an NPC standing next to the main player's base. The stacking mechanics can be used ONLY with this vehicle. The rest of your vehicle fleet still works based on an inventory system. All in all, I really like this feature, it makes the game way more entertaining. However, the driving is still clunky, wonky, sluggish, glitchy, etc. It is probably the worse aspect of the game. But, the devs are working on another major update that will be released soon. At some point of this video, I am standing next to a large, closed area that (according to the popup notification) will become available in the next update. This will probably be the announced new aspect of the game: rebuilding/building your own workshop. Maybe there will be some cool features included. For now, I hope the devs will add some sort of a survival mode: no scrap respawn, which will force players to drive farther and farther from the main scrapyard, allow them to "clear" and "clean" areas for good, force exploration. It would be, in my opinion, a great improvement to the game. Now, there is no reason to explore the map because you can find crazy amounts of scrap and items by just visiting the same, neighboring locations.
