Emerald-Specific Kaizo Rules
We have agreed in the community to use a 60% level increase modifier instead of 50% to make winning the Steven battle more possible.
To do this, you must patch a ROM with a 6% increase, then patch it again with the string provided in the discord. We must do it this way as the randomizer only allows a maximum of 50% increase.
Berry trees may not be used/picked under any circumstances
Rusturf Tunnel may be entered multiple times due to progression
No Slateport early. You must defeat Brawly in order to go to Slateport
Dewford Cave cannot be re-entered after you get the bike as it is considered a dungeon. (cannot get additional items)
Soda pop shop is allowed (6 Sodas for defeating 3 trainers)
This is considered a dungeon and you cannot leave and then re-enter
Trick House may be completed only once as it is considered a dungeon. You cannot go back as it updates throughout the game
Winstrate House may be completed
Fiery Path may be entered multiple times due to progression
You are allowed to grab the items inside after learning Strength
Meteor Falls may be entered multiple times due to progression
No “Match Call” in Pokenav, aka no rematches with trainers you have already fought
No post-”Elite 4 + Wallace” content allowed other than cleaning up missed overworld items. This means:
No S.S Tidal
No Trainer Hill
No Battle Frontier
However, you may re-enter the safari zone to pick up the items in the new zones after beating Elite 4 + Wallace
As per the above, you must essentially go straight from beating the “Elite 4 + Wallace” to Steven in Meteor Falls (no gaining additional EXP other than Rare Candy)
TMs 39, 08, 34, 50, 42, 40, 04, 03 are from gym leaders
