Black Mesa is a mod turned full game on Steam coming from Crowbar Collective. Originally called Black Mesa Source until VALVe made them change the mod's name to just Black Mesa this mod started development in 2005 due to the disappointment of the Half-Life Source release which was little more than a bad port of the original Half-Life onto the then new Source Engine. The mod originally seemed like it would never release and yet in 2012 they released it up to the ending of Lambda Core leaving out all of Xen. It would take an Early Access release in 2015 on steam with an upgraded Source Engine and then another wait until 2020 until we would finally get Xen.

After all this time I am finally going to put on the HEV suit, ruin an experiment and fight my way through this "masterpiece" of a game and remake to find out what the fuss is all about. Maybe one day I'll visit the original as well.
