The shots they took at the drone were all in vain. The Iranians tried again in March of 2013 with their aging F-4 Phantoms, but this time, the MQ-1 Predator wasn't alone in the sky. The Iranian pilots had no idea that two F-22 stealth fighters were also in the air, operating in full stealth mode. The Phantoms thought the drone was alone, and as they went to attack it, one of the F-22s protecting it also made a move. Silently coming from behind, the F-22 Raptor started flying under the F-4 Phantoms stealthily. The Raptor's pilot checked their weaponry, and the F-4 pilots were completely oblivious to the F-22's presence. After reviewing their arsenal, the F-22 Raptor pilot came up next to one of the F-4 Phantoms' left wing and stated, "You really ought to go home." This incident demonstrated the cutting-edge stealth features of the F-22 Raptor, that allowed it to approach its enemies without being spotted by either the Iranian jets or ground control.
