Legendary composer Sawano Hiroyuki brought Survive Said the Prophet's vocalist Yosh on THE FIRST TAKE to sing BELONG. Originally a fairly heavy rock ballad, they strip it down with just piano and vocals. This gorgous rearrangement lays bare that there is some rhythmic trickery going on - the song isn't actually consistently in 4/4.
After the piano/vocal version we decided to record an ensemble version as well. I converted the guitar line from the original and split it into a violin and cello line. I then kept increasing the amount of voice leading over and over until I had something that could've come straight out of a Bach piece, which I think really compliments the song well. That is the version you're currently listeing to!
