Kat's First Competitive Game
2At around 11 PM, Kat said she was finally ready to do competitive. I agreed to take her in, asking if she wanted to do a round in which we get no bans and have to say our roles (mainly for her mission to get Lux for free), or a formal game with bans and assigned roles. She wasn't sure, so I just chose Blind Pick so she could get Lux. She wanted to play Top Lane as Teemo, but someone else already claimed that. She wanted to do Jungle as Diana, but Warwick already claimed that. Xerath claimed they'd be Middle or Support, and that meant Kat was forced to play Bottom Lane, and I wasn't sure who she should've played as, so i suggested Ziggs randomly. I picked Vex under the intention of going Mid Lane and Xerath would be Support, but we awkwardly just had two people in Mid Lane, forcing Kat to fend for herself.
I told her just to hold out and that I'd come down to help whenever I could, in which, didn't work out too well. Other than that, when I told her to do something, she'd do it, whether it was pushing a lane, teleporting in and out, slaying the Dragon...she did very well.
While I personally got my first Triple Kill, along with a nice S- (even though I already got S+ before) and a 16 0 12 KDA, I more or less feel as though Kat brought me good luck that game. She'll improve over time, as she already has. Odds weren't entirely in her favor given she had to 1 v 2 with a role she has the least experience with, but I still think she did well.
