If you are eager to see the next generation of the Apple Airpods Max, you may have to wait a bit longer. This is because a new version is not coming anytime soon. Apple may refresh the Airpods Max in the second half of 2024. It may even go as far as the first half of 2025 according to Apple Supply Chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo made this statement in his series of tweets he posted on Twitter in trying to outline the industry expectations. In Kuo’s post, he said “next important acoustic product refresh time will be between the second half of 2024 and the first half of 2025”. Within this period of time, Kuo listed three Apple products which are due for new replacements. These products include Apple Airpods Max 2, second-generation Apple Homepod mini and a cheaper version of Airpods. For what fans may be expecting in Apple’s premium headphones, Kuo did not talk about any upcoming features or specifications. However, we expect improvements in certain important areas. These include improved noise cancelation, a USB-C port instead of lightning port, U1 chip to help locate the headphone using Find My app and of course more color options. Apple may even include more features in the successor of the headphone that first saw the light of day in 2020 for a price of $549.

In some of his previous posts, Kuo also spoke about a more affordable Airpods from the Cupertino company. He said Apple is planning on a more affordable standard Airpods. Apple aims to put a $99 price tag on this affordable version of the Airpods. Currently, the cheapest Airpods available is the second-generation Airpods which costs $129. As for the third generation Airpods, Apple sells the lightning charging case edition for $169. To get the same type of Airpods with MagSafe charging case, you may have to pay $10 more which makes it $179.
