Since I haven't played this game on the launch day and this game is also in games catalog - I gave it a try and Finally BEAT IT! I Give Kena Bridge Of Spirits Score 6/10. I played my first playthrough (no more, once is enough) on Master Difficulty, I beat it and it was horrible gameplay experience.
It was the hardest mode in the game and I think because of that... I could feel all of the bad things in the game:
- unresponsive button especially when you try to aim faster (L2) combine it with Jumping to get the 'slow-mo' effect. Sometimes it could be very annoying and it won't aim, instead it'd execute Air slam (if you have learned it).
- Of course super tiny window of parry. This one is actually gonna help you alot when you play the game on Master Difficulty but it's not that easy brothers. So ridiculous.
- Sprint animation sucks and I'm talking about sprinting to the opposite direction. Trust me when the game goes harder you want to be fast and sprinting could mess you up.
- Unnecessary drop animation. When you drop from high ground, usually when you do the double jump near the ground it'd save you so you can move again or run quickly but not in this game. Kena would slowly recover from high ground no matter what you do.
- This game has the worst slow-mo ever! Just compare it with Horizon Forbidden west and you'll know what I'm talking about.
- When an enemy appears in front of you (even before they fully appear) it will block your way and this could be a real problem if there is an enemy ready to attack you. If there is an enemy behind the appearings sometimes you won't be able to attack them.
- We need fov. The camera can feel too close, while the casual game is trying so hard to be dark-soul like. This game may looks cute, Disney-like characters, but it seems the devs would like to annoy you with attacks from your blind spot.
- Not to mention small glitches and bugs. For example, I found it when I fought this final boss. It happened to me twice. When I threw my first bomb, then tried to switch to bow it wouldn't do it, instead I saw bomb on Kena's hand but couldn't throw it.
