How To Unlock:
There are only a few Mages throughout the story, making this one of the more potentially missable combat trophies. All Mage encounters are story-related. The first one appears after restoring all Ancient Shrines in Forgotten Forest, where the Mage serves as a miniboss with a health bar at the top of the screen. You'll then fight another two while clearing the corruption in the Village Heart Caves. Upon encountering a Mage, create a Manual Save so you can retry if he accidentally dies. Weaken him to the point where he will die in one hit (use the bow for this). Wait for the Mage to cast a red orb that homes in on you – this is his "bomb." To earn the trophy, press L1 just before the red orb hits you, performing a parry and throwing the orb back at him. If the Mage dies from this, you'll receive the trophy. A brief animation/mini-cutscene will play, showing Kena throwing the orb back, indicating you've executed it correctly. The timing is quite tricky and may take a few minutes to master. Press and hold L1 for 2 seconds at the exact moment the red orb is about to hit you. If you press too early, the orb will hit your shield; if too late, it will hit you directly. The timing must be perfect. Do NOT hold down L1 and then press L1 with the shield already around you (avoid casting a shield bubble around yourself before attempting the L1 parry). This method won't work for a parry. Instead, start casting your shield bubble at the precise moment the red orb makes contact. No upgrades are necessary for this achievement. It can be accomplished using the default Shield without any upgrades.
