Keplerth is a game where every new world is randomly generated. The player takes control of a custom character and is tasked with exploring the world, fighting enemies, helping random people, building up a base where the rescued can hang out, and taming pets. The main storyline has the player descending deeper underground and fighting enemies that get stronger the deeper you go. There are bosses that must be defeated before the game allows you to progress. As you go deeper, more advanced technologies will become available to you, you also get access to more resources that, with a bit of luck, will allow you to genetically modify your character. All player gene modifications are reversible to allow a different approach for every new challenge with alternative abilities. There is also a system that allows you to create a replica that will follow you around and help you fight. The pet system allows for two animals to escort you, one as a mount and the other as a protector. You can unlock upgrades for your pets by creating agents that make them better and the genes you need to create the replicas are obtained from villagers by completing their orders. The replica genes can't be edited, so in order to have better companions, you would need to create new ones. There are also mystery portals that take you to two different challenge rooms. One is a defense challenge where you must defend an objective until the timer runs out and are rewarded with more money the longer you hold it. The other is a battle room where you need to clear all enemies and, as a reward, you are allowed to gain one of three prizes: a pet egg, a skill chest, or a money box. The skills are powerful abilities that can greatly help you deal with enemies by dealing direct damage, slowing enemies, or buffing allies.
