This was a fight I was both anticipating and dreading at the same time. Not only is Zexion exclusive to Reverse/Rebirth, but he's also exclusive to the console version. In the GBA version this fight never happens, Zexion just runs away. Being exclusive to consoles, this is one of the most unique yet confusing fights in the entire game. With this in mind, I cannot believe this fight was as easy as it was. I was dreading getting stuck on this fight trying to no damage it. Lexaeus took me days, this... This was my first attempt... I'm not lying, this recording was actually my very first attempt at Zexion on both this file and on the PS4 version in general. What I am assuming is that my time with Lexaeus more or less prepared me for this fight because a lot of the concepts learned in that fight work here except Zexion is much slower and has a much weaker deck.

First off, your in permanent Dark Mode for this entire fight and you can never lose the form. For how Zexion works, he only has one type of card, his magic card. When used he creates a small Magnet spell that homes in on you. He also has a single sleight that creates a massive tornado in the center of the field. What makes this fight so complicated is that his magic cards and Cyclone Snatch sleight have the unique effect of literally stealing cards from your deck. At first the cards he steals does nothing but if he steals enough he enters a second phase.

In the second phase, a bunch of floating books appear all over the field and Zexion gains his own Soul Eater. From here he becomes much more aggressive and fights you directly. In order to get your cards back you need to destroy the floating books and when they are all destroyed, your cards scatter across the field and Zexion goes back to his first phase.

It's... Difficult to explain how your supposed to do this fight. Like I said before, this fight is similar to Lexaeus in that you just have to take it slow and pay attention to the card numbers. Your deck is not that great in this world but there are worse. You have two 0 cards in the middle of your deck and they aren't exactly needed at all times. Zexion's attacks are very very slow and give you a lot of time to break them. Whenever Zexion plays a card, quickly get to a card that is just barely enough to break it and get a full combo in using your low number cards. Zexion's deck is not that good either but he does have 8s and 9s you have to deal with. Don't worry about getting card broken either, his attacks are slow enough that it doesn't matter. You will trade blows a lot in this fight, he plays a card, you break it, he breaks you back, you break him back.

Topic of the video: "Throwing Cards"
When I say throwing cards, I don't mean throwing them away like you would useless Friend Cards. What I mean is that Riku's attack cards are expendable thanks to his instant reload. Sometimes you may mash out all your attack cards in one go and sometimes you'll only play one card and reload right after. Don't be afraid to throw out all your cards with little regard for conserving. Riku's attack cards are just standard cards, no premiums, no rare cards and no getting weaker every time you reload. Attack as often as you need and reload whenever you need.
