Finally, a completely new and original fight. This fight is extremely easy if you don't restrict yourself on duels and sleights but without this fight can take a very long time. Lexaeus is essentially the reverse of Marluxia in terms of weaknesses and resistances, he is weak to sleights and resistant to basic attacks.

What makes this fight so tough is how you have no time to breath. Lexaeus is relentless and plays high numbered cards quickly giving you little time to readjust yourself. Whats worse is that you need to use everything in your power to break his magic cards or this fight only gets longer. Every magic card Lexaeus has in his deck is a 9 and every time he plays one uninterrupted, he powers up to the next stage. Aside from getting stronger and he attacks having a larger hit radius, in stage 2 he stops flinching to attacks and in stage 3 he outright becomes invincible. If he powers up, just stall him out and break cards like you would while trying to enter Dark Mode. Eventually he will power down to he previous stage.

He has two attack cards, a red and a blue one. The red attack card is a two-hit slam attack. The first hit has very short range and can be avoided by just being a little distance away and the second hit is extremely slow and can be easily dodged. If you are good at multitasking dodging and managing your deck position, this is a small breather. His blue attack is a boomerang-like throw attack. For the longest time I thought this attack was completely undodgable with Dark Riku and I was about to give up getting no damage but I eventually realized there are two ways to avoid it. One as shown in the video is to time your Dash Jump just right. This usually only works if he is far enough away. The other way is more tricky, if you can time it just right, you can jump and then double jump right over it. For his sleights... Don't even bother, just break them...

Because of how this works, you need to play very close attention to your deck and the cards he plays. You don't want any of his magic cards to go off or the duel gets longer so make sure you always have a 9 or 0 close to you however this is easier said then done. Any time you try and reload your deck, Lexaeus will exploit that opening to power up unopposed. Because of this, I had to stun him every time I needed to reload so the fight wouldn't last forever trying to break his transformation.

Topic of the video: "Bluffing Duels"'
In some cases its worth playing an equal card to clash to either break the enemies card or to give you time to readjust yourself. You have about a second where the fight essentially pauses when you clash equal cards and you can make use of this to cycle through your deck and find your good cards. This is great in fast moving fights where you have little time to do so normally.
